Omeda Celebrates IAPP’s Data Privacy Day with Organizational Updates

June 8, 2022 0

Over the past few years, data privacy has become an important part of any organization. Here at Omeda we’ve always focused on protecting and governing the data we are tasked to manage on behalf of our clients. Given the rise of data protection regulations Omeda’s role as a steward of our client’s data has grown even more operationally critical.

With that, Omeda is excited to celebrate world Data Privacy Day by announcing a few updates to better serve our clients while providing industry best practices in this growing, privacy-centric world. If you’d like to learn more about “Data Privacy Day” please read about it here.

First, Omeda is proud to announce it has become a full and active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource. Founded in 2000, the IAPP is a non-profit organization that helps define, support and improve the privacy profession globally. The IAPP is the first organization to publicly establish standards in professional education and testing for privacy and data protection. IAPP privacy certification is internationally recognized as a reputable, independent program that professionals seek and more industries are demanding.

We are excited to join this internationally recognized privacy community to continue to provide best practices, research, and data privacy updates to our clients.

Separately, today Omeda is announcing the launch of a Data Privacy Program which will be spearheaded by Bettina Lippisch, whose responsibilities and title have expanded to Vice President, Privacy and Data Governance. In preparation for making this exciting new initiative a success, Bettina earned the ANSI-accredited designation of Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the IAPP. She also successfully completed the Harvard Business Certificate in “Privacy & Technology.” Bettina will begin to collaborate across Omeda’s departments to improve upon and further formalize our Privacy Programs. These Programs will continue to drive our privacy strategy, industry leadership, and best practices both for our clients and internally at Omeda. We’re excited to have Bettina lead this program.

As we have always done, Omeda will continue to provide our clients with the most up-to-date industry information while continuing to drive new and innovative products and services. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding data privacy and the role it plays in your business over the coming months.
